RTI panel imposes penalty to Kaup TMC Chief Officer Mabel D’Souza
Udupi: The Karnataka Information Commission has imposed a penalty of Rs 10,000 against Mabel D’Souza, former manager for information Officer, Udupi City Municipal Council. The commission has found her guilty of providing incomplete information Under RTI.
The commission passed this order on a complaint filed by Jayalaxmi. On July 1, 2014. Jayalaxmi had sought information under the RTI. Mabel D’Souza ignored to provide the information to Jayalaxmi.
In the order of September 3, Chief Information Commissioner said that officer Mabel D’Souza failed to provide information to Jayalaxmi. The Commissioner imposed a penalty of Rs 10,000 under Section 20 (1) of the Right To Information (RTI) Act.
He directed the Joint Commissioner to deduct Rs 5,000 each from the September and October salary of Mabel D’Souza and deposit the same in the account.
Mabel D’Souza is presently working as Chief officer of Kaup Town Municipality.
