Rumours being spread about my Transfer to DK as SP False – Annamalai
Mangaluru: “I have not received any information from the Government to be the Superintendent of Police for Dakshina Kannada District. There are unfounded rumours about my posting to Dakshina Kannada”, said Annamalai, SP of Chikkamagaluru.
The recent recorded conversation between District minister in-charge Ramanath Rai and SP of Dakshina Kannada Bhushan Borase has gone viral. In connection with the Video, people started to spread rumours that SP Bhushan will be transfered and Annamalai will be coming to Dakshina Kannada. There are rumours that Annamalai is the right police officer to bring the Kalladka situation under control.
Speaking to mangalorean.com SP Annamalai said, “People spread rumours about my transfer but so far I have not received any intimation about my transfer nor have any higher authorities discussed about my transfer to Dakshina Kannada. People should not give heed to the rumours.”
While Annamalai worked as SP in Udupi and he put a brake on the Drug mafia, made helmet compulsory and the crime rate had drastically decreased. SP Annamalai was transferred on the request of Home Minister to Chikkamagaluru as SP. In Chikkamagaluru Annamalai has brought many changes in the police department. If he will be brought to Dakshina Kannada, people have hopes that he will effectively bring down the incidents of Communal violence in the district.
