Sacred Hearts’ Pre-Primary School Celebrates Annual Day
Mangaluru: The Sacred Hearts’ Pre-Primary School Held its Annual Day at the School auditorium here on December 13.
The programme began by welcoming the guests to the dais. KG Supervisor Sr Norma BS welcomed the gathering.
Addressing the parents Advocate and Director of Sandesha Foundation Fr Assisi D Almeida said, “This is an auspicious day. I have attended many programmes but attending LKG or UKG programme is highly commendable and I feel proud of it. I don’t want to speak about spirituality, I will speak about attitude since attitude is very much important. In the olden days when a child was making mistakes, their parents were blamed. But now along with the parents, the teachers are also held responsible since the child spends more time with the teachers whereas it was quite the opposite in the olden days. Earlier children were more influenced by their parents whereas children now are influenced by many people as they spend most of the time in school, tuitions and other activities. Parents should think about the future of their children and spend more quality time with them.”
He further said, “Nowadays parents fail to understand why they lose control of their children. We need to concentrate on solving the problems within us. Parents should take special care of their children since there are many cases of children committing suicide for simple reasons. Within a month we have seen three children committing suicide. Why are children committing suicide? We have failed to understand our children. When teachers correct a child, parents get upset and blame the teachers. I am happy to see the innocent children here who are in good hands. Teachers should always think of the future of the children and work towards their total development. I request all the parents to understand their responsibilities and do their part in taking care of their children and molding them. In school teachers take care of hundreds of children. Some parents want everything easy and adopt improper means to control them which is not right. I wish all the teachers and parents all the best.”
Prizes were distributed to the students who won the prizes in various competitions. Tiny tots mesmerized the crowd with their foot-tapping dance. Sr M Rekha BS Superior, Santa Cruz Convent, Kulshekar and Local Manager of the Campus presided over the programme. Joyce D’Souza compered the programme. Headmistress of Sacred Hearts’ Sr Lavita, Correspondent Sr Mariola BS, PTA Vice President Pushparaj Poojary and others were also present.
