Sahyadri Bags VTU Overall Championship for 6th Time at Belagavi
Mangaluru: Sahyadri won the overall Championship in the 20th VTU state level Inter collegiate Athletic competition for the 6th time. The competition was held at Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi from 3rd to 6th November, 2017. Sahyadri won the overall Championship both in Men & Women section, by securing 35 & 45 points respectively combining a total of 80 points.
Manisha A created a New meet record in 4×100 Mtrs. Relay (Women’s section) and won the Best Athlete award in the Women’s section.

7. Sushma 3rd place in 5000 Mtrs. & 10000 Mtrs.
8. Shreya N. Kottari 2nd place in Heptathlon & 3rd place in High Jump

10. Satvika J. Rai 3rd place in Javelin throw
11. Ranulf J. Noronha 3rd place in Javelin throw

Prof. Karisiddappa, Vice Chancellor – VTU, Belagavi appreciated the Athletes of Sahyadri College for winning the VTU Championship Trophy for the 6th time. Manjunath Bhandary Chairman Sahyadri College, Dr Umesh M Bhushi Principal, Sadanand H S, Director of Sports and Nithisha Rodrigues, Physical Education Director were present during the prize distribution ceremony.
T.G. Krishna Bhat, IPS, Police Commissioner of Belagavi was also present on the occasion, he wished Manjunath Bhandary for his initiation towards physical education and for the overall development of the students.
