About Sahyadri
Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the Technical and Management domains, approved by AICTE and affiliated to Visveshwaraya Technological University – VTU. The vision of the Institute is to become a globally respected institute striving continuously for excellence in Education, Research and technological service to the nation.
The College offers B.E. Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics & Communication, and Post – Graduation in MBA, M.Tech in above mentioned five specializations and Ph.D. Research Programs.
The college is ISO 9001-2008 certified from TUV Nord, Germany and has obtained the International Accreditation Organization (IAO) candidate stature.

Chairman
A visionary, entrepreneur, educationist and politician. His novel thoughts add a new dimension to the world of education. His dynamic leadership brings about much needed social reforms through education, to empower individuals to become the backbone of an enterprising, productive society. He has received the prestigious Eisenhower Fellowship Award by the Eisenhower Foundation, Philadelphia, USA. He has been nominated as a special invitee to the Karnataka State Higher Education Council. He was conferred the Second National Karnataka Education Award – 2016 by VTU and CMAI Association of India for his excellent contribution to education.
Infrastructure
Sahyadri campus is spread across 30 acres of land on the banks of the river Nethravathi and is surrounded by a serene atmosphere. It is adjacent to the Mangalore-Bangalore, National Highway 48. The Campus provides a congenial atmosphere for education. The excellent infrastructure coupled with dedicated and experienced faculty has made the Campus a much sought–after abode of learning.
The College has a built-in area of Five lakh sqft, aesthetically constructed, in the courtyard style. Very spacious class rooms with good ventilation, well-equipped laboratories, spacious library, seminar halls, auditorium with all modern acoustic facilities, state-of-the-art cafeteria and well developed sports facility are provided in the Campus.

Student Project Support Scheme – SPSS
This is the first-of-its-kind in any professional technical institution in the country. SPSS provides financial and academic support for student projects in order to improve the quality of technical education. The management has earmarked sufficient funds to support student projects through the SPSS.
Sahyadri Center for Social Innovation – SCSI
The main objective of the Sahyadri Center for Social Innovation (SCSI) is to motivate the students in the area of Social Innovations and Engineering and provide hands on experience and practical exposure to solve socially relevant problems. The college believes that mere academic knowledge is not sufficient to produce world-class engineers.
Hands on Experience Lab
In order to bridge the gap between theory and technology, the college has initiated this lab. The Hands on Lab is a full-fledged 24X7 technical workspace. The lab aims at enhancing the analytical skills and practical knowledge of the budding engineers. The Hands-on Lab is built on the lines of “Make in India” concept where we encourage students to pursue their ideas and innovate continuously. One intent is to bring Engineering close to reality.
Start-up @ Sahyadri
Start-up at Sahyadri focuses on holistic approach on building a complete understanding about startups and entrepreneurship journey through various perspectives and connects all relevant and related resources and tools for further self learning and to turn theory into action. The objective of Start-up@Sahyadri is to provide adequate support data and tools to connect with other sources and data that support the entrepreneurial venture.

Sahyadri Initiatives
The institution has supported students to participate in SAE BAJA, SAE SUPRA, SAE AERO etc; competitions which help students to use their theoretical knowledge for practical applications. Students are qualified for SAE-BAJA, SAE Go Cart, SAE Formula Race, and SAE Aero Design Competitions. A two days National level Aero Modeling Competition “Aerophilia 2016” conducted at Sahyadri. The Competition for undergraduate students of the entire country was organized by team Challengers and Dreamers of the institute, wherein students from premier institutes like IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, NIT Karnataka had participated.
Motto of the institute is Project & Research based learning, grooming Entrepreneurial culture fostering holistic development of students contributing to society getting them exposed through weekly invited talks from renowned Scientists, CEO’s, COO’s & industrialists. These are augmented by strong Human Resource with wide range of rich experience from renowned institutes, strong management support aiding project based learning through more than a crore of investment every year, facilitating funded research.
Department of Placement
The Department of Placement consists of the HOD-Placement and an Assistant Placement Officer. The department is entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that students are well-placed professionally, thereby bringing to a successful culmination the students’ efforts in the program. The objective of the Placement Department is to train the students as per the requirements of the industry. This is done through extensive industry-specific aptitude training, to enhance the effectiveness of the students aspiring for placement.
