Sahyadri College to Host 5-Day Faculty Development Program on Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Mangaluru: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru, is set to Host a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Innovation and Entrepreneurship from March 24 to 28, 2025. This offline, non-residential program is organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India. Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management is one among the 50 institutions selected to host this program and has received ₹3.5 lakhs grant in aid from the Government of India to conduct the FDP.

The FDP aims to equip faculty members and incubation managers with essential skills and knowledge to mentor student and faculty-led innovation projects and entrepreneurial ventures. Participants will gain valuable insights into startup ecosystem development, innovation management, intellectual property rights, technology transfer, and product development.

The FDP covers 14 diverse topics, led by expert facilitators such as Dr. B. Ravi, Director of the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK); Shri Sreekanth K. A., Entrepreneur in Residence and CHRO with Machani Group; Dr. Santhosha Rao, CEO of MUTBI, Manipal; Shri Gaurav Kamath, CEO of Microdegree; and many other distinguished speakers. These experts bring together academic excellence and industry experience, with strong connections to innovation hubs, industry leaders, and entrepreneurial networks.

Who Can Participate?

• Faculty members leading Institution Innovation Councils (IICs), IEDCs, E-Cells, or Entrepreneurship Clubs
• Educators mentoring students for hackathons, Smart India Hackathon (SIH), and startup competitions
• Incubation managers and faculty involved in innovation-driven initiatives
• Faculty with expertise in product design, business strategy, technology development, and intellectual property
• Academicians engaged in funded projects or product development
This FDP presents an excellent opportunity for educators and mentors to enhance their expertise, contribute to building an innovation-driven academic ecosystem, and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.

The program will be coordinated by Dr. Anush Bekal, Head of the Department of E&C, Vice President of the Sahyadri Institute Innovation Council, and Mr. Harisha, Convener of the Sahyadri Institute Innovation Council, under the guidance of Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, Director of Research at SCEM, and Dr. S. S. Injaganeri, Principal.
