Sahyadri Dept of Computer Science & Engineering to organize ‘CHANAKYA IT QUIZ – 2019’
Mangaluru : Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangaluru Press Club, Dr. J V Gorabal, Professor & Head Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Sahyadri College, Mangaluru said, “Our College will be organizing a one day IT Quiz-Chanakya 2019 on 28th September 2019 at Sahyadri Campus Adyar from 10 am- 4 pm.. This competition will be open for all Graduate and Post Graduate students of Various colleges and Universities of college in Karnataka, this competition will provide unique and exciting platform to refresh their knowledge in the field of Information Technology. Winner will be provided with Exciting Cash Prizes and other attractive Goodies from various Sponsors of event Brochure is attached”.
“The program helps the young minds to explore themselves in the field of information and technology. Technical Fest plays an important role in the college curriculum. It is one such event where young brains get to showcase their skills and compete with others to find the best. A quiz is a type of game or mind-sport, where the players – as individuals or teams – make an attempt to answer questions accurately. In the field of Information technology context, a quiz also serves the purpose of a brief assessment to gauge the skills, abilities, and knowledge of students. In this regard Department of computer science initiated this CHANAKYA-IT-QUIZ to pool and recognize young technocrats across Karnataka” added Dr Gorabal.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering started in the year 2007 with an intake of 60 and is a fast growing discipline and is full of rigorous practical analysis. The department also interacts with the industries on a regular basis to develop the capabilities in the latest technologies. The department has setup the state of the art laboratories with computing facilities and peripheral devices. The department has an intake of 180 students in UG (B. E.) category. With highly talented faculty, the department boasts of a unique mode of learning, one that uses advanced aids for teaching. Our faculty and students are actively involved in intense interactions that help our students to gain practical exposure on Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Internet of Things and Mobile Tech, much before they are part of the IT industry.
