Sahyadri holds ‘TECHNOWEEK-2019’
Mangaluru: Technical Talk Delivered for the Students of Civil Engineering on Account of ‘TECHNOWEEK-2019 at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru. To mark the ‘158th Birth Anniversary of ‘Sir M Visvesvaraya’ and also the ’52’nd Engineers’ Day’, the fraternity of Association of Consulting Civil Engineers, Mangalore Centre in association with Ramco Cements Ltd. is conducting various technical talks and seminars in various Engineering Colleges in and around Mangalore. On this occasion, technical talks were organized for the students of V Semester Civil Engineering at Sahyadri College.
Er. Ujwal D’Souza, Director – O&A, Marian projects shared a few insights on Project Management with the students of Civil Engineering. Resource Management, Planning, Scheduling, Surveying etc. which are the mandatory fields of Civil Engineering were the highlights of the session. Er Ujwal also spoke about a range of job opportunities available in the field of Civil Engineering and how one should be prepared to grab each one of them.
Dr. Raghavendra Holla, Professor, MIT, Manipal shared his thoughts on Professional Ethics in which he spoke about the primary values of code conduct and universal ethical principles to be followed in Civil Engineering Profession. He concluded his session by quoting – “Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do” – Potter Stewart. Dr. Nalini E Rebello, H.O.D, Department of Civil Engineering, Ms. Deepthishree S Aithal, Coordinator of the event along with other faculty members were present during the technical session.
