Saints and Seers start arriving for Dharma Sansad, Togadia in city with tight security

Udupi: Dr Pravin Togadia International working President and Champatrai International General Secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishath along with hundreds of saints and seers from across the country arrived in the city on November 23 to attend the historic three-day grand affair of the Dharma Sansad which will begin on November 24.

Dr. Pravin Togadia International working President and Champatrai International General Secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishath arrived to the Mangaluru international airport. Later both leaders proceed to Udupi by road.

While speaking to media persons in Mangaluru International airport Dr. Pravin Togadia said that the issue of the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is likely to be discussed at the Dharma Sansad. Other issues that would be discussed include dealing with casteism in the Hindu community, removal of untouchability, stopping conversion and the promotion of cow protection.

When media persons questioned him over the controversy of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Padmavati’, Togadia said that the film should be banned.

Various Hindu community saints, seers, sadhwis started to arrive to the royal garden from all over the country. Many saints, seers, sadhwis from north India including West Bengal, Odissa, Punjab had already arrived to the Dharma Sansad premises on November 23 morning. While foreign Hindu saints from UK, US, Australia have also been thronging the Dharma Sansad premises.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend the three-day ‘Dharma Sansad’. Both Bhagwat and Adityanath will deliver the keynote address at the event.

About 500 volunteers spread out in 80 groups will manage the mega event. On November 24 morning religious leaders will be brought in a procession from Sri Krishna Temple to the Royal Ground Kalsanka. There will be seminars on 24 and 25 November, top level leaders will assemble to pass the resolution on important issues. It will be a closed door meeting and public or media persons are not allowed.

Hotels and lodges in Udupi and Manipal are fumly booked with the arrival of guests. Udupi town has turned into a fortress with tight police security. Meanwhile Udupi town has turned saffron with flags, buntings and banners erected all over the City.

Extra parking arrangements are made and the traffic will be in slow motion at all important junctions and roads. The vehicles from Mangaluru would be parked at MJC grounds, while those coming from Kundapur should be parked at Bailur and the vehicles from Karkala at Beedenagudde grounds.

The light vehicles and two wheelers will be parked at the Rajangana parking area and Christian High School grounds.
