Salary Issue: 3 centres of ‘Mangalore One’ go on Strike

Mangaluru: The employees of “Mangalore One” in Kadri, Lalbagh and Suratkal have gone on strike for not receiving their salary on time, here on January 2.

As usual, people arrived at the Kadri Mangalore One centre to pay the electricity, water, and other bills but the employees of the centre were on strike and refused to entertain any customers.

Speaking to mangalorean.com one of the staff at the Kadri Mangalore one centre said, “From the past three months we have not been paid promptly. During the appointment, our salary was fixed at Rs 9000 per month. But till date, we did not get the promised salary. Every month our salary has been deducted. When we ask for the reason, they say that we are not registering our attendance properly even though we are working 9 hours a day.”

One of the staff said, “I did not take any leave last month but my salary was deducted and I received only Rs 2245. When I asked them, they instructed me to send the complaint by email but till date I have not received my balance salary. Last week due to the delay in payment of the internet bill our internet was disconnected. The management blamed us for that and said that we were misusing the internet. There is still one more bill pending for payment”.

She also said, “When there is any problem in the system we have been blamed. The salary structure is not in order, they are not giving us provident fund. They had also assured of increasing our salary according to our experience. We have two shifts of 8 am to 5 pm and 10 am to 7 pm our salary was fixed at Rs 8200 per month but we do not receive that amount. We need an increment in the Salary and also need provident fund. So far we did not protest in this regard because we thought that people will face problems. A ration card operator gets Rs 9000, Bill collecting operators get Rs 8200 and Aadhar card operators get Rs 9000 per month. We demand to pay us the salary according to our designation. If our demands will not be fulfilled we continue our fight. We will also submit a memorandum to the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh to provide us justice”.

Oh my God! I am paying my Utility Bills,Property Taxes to this Company. Mangalore one is always in the news regarding mismanagement. But State Government is not taking any action on this outfit. There must be inside connection with Elected Officials. It is time for Anti Crime Dept. to take a peek at this company and find out illegal activities, before We the public loose the money we paid as Taxes and Utility Payment.
