Sandeep Rathod Killed Anjana for Refusing to Marry him
Mangaluru: 22-year-old Anjana from Tarikere, Chikkamagaluru was murdered by Sandeep Rathod in a rented room at Attavar on June 7.
Anjana had approached the house owner in Attavar and introduced Sandeep to him as her husband who was preparing for the police officers examination and was going to be promoted as SI. Trusting her the house owner rented the room to Sandeep since they are renting rooms only for boys. While giving the room on rent, the owner had informed him that girls were not allowed to come to the rooms.
On June 2, Sandeep shifted to the room Anjana had come to help him set the room and left in the evening. On June 7 morning Anjana had again come to meet Sandeep. In the evening the house owner found her dead in the room.
According to Anjana’s father, Anjana had a proposal and she had agreed for the marriage.
It was suspected that Anjana might have told Sandeep about the proposal because of which Sandeep was upset and in a fit of rage might have strangulated and killed her.
During interrogation, the accused Sandeep revealed that Anjana had refused to marry him after which he strangled and killed her.
After the crime, Sandeep Rathod had fled to his home town Sindagi. The police formed special teams and arrested Sandeep in Sindagi.
