Sandhya Lives in four people after Death
Mangaluru: Sandhya P Hegde (39), a resident of Muchhur, who was suffering from Intraventricular bleeding was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit and was declared brain dead on August 20 at 11:30pm.
Her vital organs like heart, kidneys and liver, have been donated. On August 21, at around 1:30pm, the members of the Zonal Coordination Committee of Karnataka reached the hospital. The organs were retrieved by 6:30pm.
The liver has been taken to Columbia Asia Hospital, the Heart valves have been sent to Narayana Hrudayalaya. The kidneys have been transplanted at KMC Hospital and A J Hospital respectively.
All arrangements were made for zero traffic during the transportation of the organs to the airport.
