Sangh Parivar Joined hands with British During Freedom Movement – Ramanath Rai

Udupi: “There is a difference of opinion in our Country, but if anyone expresses his opinion he will be suspended as punishment”, said B Ramanath Rai, Minister for Forests and Environment while interacting with the media in Manipal on February 24.

When mediapersons questioned about a college student being suspended for posting a photograph of BJP National President Amit Shah with the caption “Bundal Raja” on the Social media. Rai said, on February 20, BJP National President Amit Shah visited the Vivekananda College and addressed the students. The suspended student had posted a photograph of the event on the social media with the caption “Bundal Raja” for which the college management asked the student not to attend the classes and suspended him for 15 days.

Ramanath Rai said, “The decision of the college management is condemnable. Educational institutions should educate the society instead of suspending the students for silly reasons. Institutions should not spoil the future of the students. The institution comes under the private sector and the government cannot interfere directly in this matter”.

When asked about the remarks of Shobha Karandlaje on Rahul Gandhi’s state tour, Rai said, “The BJP should learn history first. Rahul Gandhi is a member of the Motilal Nehru family. Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi gave their lives for the nation. The leaders of the BJP-RSS were not part of the freedom movement but had joined hands with the British. The BJP is speaking about patriotism and the same people are giving VIP pass to Naresh Shenoy who is involved in the murder of RTI activist Baliga. BJP does not have any moral right to criticise Rahul Gandhi”.
