The programme began with an invocation. Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi welcomed the gathering and delivered the keynote address. Dr A V Shetty and Chandralekha Shetty inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais.

In his keynote address, Ajith Kumar said, “There is a request from all the devotees that the comment which was made by a man on Kateel Durgaparameshwari has hurt the sentiments of the people. No one on this earth can insult God because God is Omnipotent. Some people have a sick mind and knowingly or unknowingly they create problems. We all need to pray for such people. Let God give him an understanding mind to know the power of God”.

Ajith Kumar also said, “Those who have been hurt by the comment on Goddess Kateel Durgaparmeshwari, should not lose hope. Instead, we all should pray for his good health and mind”.

Addressing the gathering Col Ramesh Shetty said that the Ganesha Chaturthi is a major festival for the Bunt community. This is the only festival which brings the entire Bunt community together. Ganesha is one of the most popular Gods and is considered a symbol of wisdom and brings luck. Any function in the Bunt community will start with a prayer for Ganesha because he is the great clearer of obstacles.

Col Ramesh Shetty further said that youth who love the army should join it and serve the country. Joining the army and serving the country is a noble service. It is an adventurous job where you will be disciplined with overall development.

The blessed new corn was distributed to the devotees by Dr A V Shetty and Chandralekha Shetty.

Raviraj Shetty Kolambe delivered the vote of thanks.
