Saud Kutam Bahrain Celebrates Parish Feast of Shirva with Grandeur

Bahrain: The buoyant community of Shirva parishioners in Bahrain gathered in jubilant spirit to celebrate the esteemed Parish Feast of Shirva at the Khadija Banquet Hall in Juffair. This remarkable event, organized by Saud Kutam Bahrain, unfolded on the evening of Thursday, 30th January, fostering an atmosphere of faith, culture, and camaraderie.

The occasion commenced with a warm and inviting welcome delivered by the Master of Ceremonies, Ms. Adeline Monis. With heartfelt nostalgia, she recounted the cherished customs associated with the Feast of Shirva, evoking fond memories for many in attendance. The formal celebrations began with a serene Rosary led by Mrs. Jacintha Barboza, accompanied by a dedicated group of parishioners, setting a spiritual tone essential to the essence of the gathering.

The organizing committee, whose meticulous planning made this significant event possible, was introduced to the attendees. The team comprised esteemed members including Mr. Rony Pinto, Mr. Jeevan Martis, Mr. Manesh Menezes, Mr. Santosh Danthi, and Mr. Wilfred Saldanha. Following the introduction, Mr. Rony Pinto extended a warm welcome to all participants, expressing gratitude for their attendance and support. This was followed by a felicitation ceremony where key sponsors of the event—Mrs. Jacintha Benedict Barboza and Family, Mr. Antony Dias and Family, Mr. Paul Quadras and Family, and Mr. Steevan Dsouza and Family—were honored for their generous contributions by Mr. Santosh Danthi. The evening’s proceedings concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Manesh Menezes, who articulated sincere appreciation to all contributors and attendees for their vital roles in the success of the event.

A particularly joyous aspect of the evening was the celebration of January birthdays and anniversaries. The festive spirit was enhanced with a delightful cake sponsored by Mr. Lawrence Sequeira and Mr. Patrick Quadras, shared among attendees as a symbol of unity and shared joy.

The celebration also showcased the talents of the community’s youth. Young performers Sharlene Sequeira and Warren Aranha mesmerized the audience with an energetic dance performance, adding a vivacious touch to the evening’s festivities. The melodious voices of Mr. Wilfred Saldanha, Mr. Vivian, and the budding talent Raizel Menezes, along with a captivating duet by Riva Pinto and Ronal Pinto, further enriched the atmosphere with musical delight.

One of the evening’s highlights was a series of engaging games orchestrated by the MC, Ms. Adeline Monis. The games, which catered to both children and adults, featured a delightful mix of dance, song, group activities, and the opportunity to win exciting spot prizes. Notably, Mr. Rony Pinto integrated a traditional element into the festivities with a quiz concerning the heritage and history of Shirva Parish, prompting both laughter and learning among the participants.

Culminating the festive evening, attendees were treated to a sumptuous dinner meticulously organized by Mrs. Jacintha Barboza. The culinary offerings not only satisfied the palate but also fostered a sense of togetherness among community members as they shared stories and experiences over the delightful feast.

The celebration of the Parish Feast of Shirva by Saud Kutam Bahrain stood as an exemplary testament to the robust bonds of faith, heritage, and community spirit that characterize the lives of Shirva parishioners. As the evening came to a close, guests departed with hearts brimming with joy and gratitude, eagerly anticipating future gatherings that promise to continue the legacy of unity and celebration of traditions.
