Saudi Arabia: June 14th 2015 was the day of celebration for Global and Al Awal Toastmasters Club members and their families. The first ever combined Al Awal Advanced Toastmasters Club and Global TMC installation ceremony of the new Executive Committee was held, where distinguished Mangalorean Toastmaster Shameer Ahmed Kudroli has been elected as President of Al Awal Advanced Club for the term 2015-2016. The grand celebration cum installation ceremony of Toastmasters was organized at Royal Malabar Restaurant Banquet Hall, Al Jubail.
The proceedings began at 6:30 pm. Sergeant at Arms TM Abdul Raheem took to the podium to read out the mission of TMI and requested current Global President TM Dr Iqbal Raj to give the opening address.
The President welcomed all the toastmasters and their families. DTM Safare Mohamed conducted the entire event flawlessly as the Master of Ceremony. Utilizing the opportunity, District 79’s Chief Ambassador for Revitalization program TM Waleed Latif conducted a brief awareness session pertaining to updated Toastmaster International Programme. Outgoing presidents TM Iqbal Raj and TM Abdullah Khalili presented Global and Al Awal yearly reports respectively.
The old committee of both the clubs was discharged of their duties and the mantle was passed on to the new committee by DTM Jagadeesan Kumar. He conducted the colorful installation ceremony while explaining the roles, administered the oath and declared the new committee for the term commencing from 1st July, 2015 to 30th June, 2016.
The newly elected President DTM Shameer Ahmed of Al Awal thanked all members for supporting him and promised to take the club to new heights of excellence and leadership. He has plans to build strong membership roster, improve the quality of the meetings, and invite more members to reap the benefits of an Advanced Club.
DTM Shameer Ahmed, an enthusiastic leader, has been a member of Global Toastmasters Club since 2007 and presently holds an additional membership at GAS and Al Awal Advanced TM Club. Earlier, he had been President to Global Toastmasters Club. In his presidential address, he unleashed the theme of Al Awal club as ‘Exceeding Further to LEAD’ to make a role model to all the clubs in the Jubail Fraternity. The newly elected Global President TM Huzaiffa Warorawalla unfurled the theme ‘Together we make a family’.
On this occasion, Shameer was honoured with ‘Fame of Global’ plaque from Global Excom for his contribution to toastmasters. DTM Aziz Siddiqui honorued with Best Performer and TM Abulkasim with Dedicated Toastmaster. President Distinguished Area 63 Governor TM Asif Siddique awarded a plaque to Global President TM Iqbal Raj for his contribution for area growth.
Two Youth leaders YL Nitin Balaji and Vijay Kumar were also honoured for their best performances in the recently concluded District 79 Conference (SATAC’15) held in Jeddah. One of the advisors of Al Awal Club is DTM Khaled Al Matlagaitu, now serving as the International Director of TMI.

It is always nice to read the highlights of Saudi Arabia, specially as far as the philanthropic advancement thru the world of Toastmasters. So many new leaders are born in Saudi Arabia as a result of being able to operate the Toastmasters movement in the interest of enhancing the leadership styles that we all deserve so badly in the fast changing world. Toastmasters movement also encourages leadership without any kind of religious or political bias.
