Saying Lies is the profession of BJP – CM Siddaramaiah
Mangaluru: The allegations of BJP on the steel bridge is baseless. BJP has no other work than hurling allegations against the Congress Government. Lying is their profession, said the Chief minister Siddaramaiah speaking to the media persons after landing at the Mangaluru International airport, Kenjar to take part in various programmes in the twin districts, here on October 30.
When reporters questioned on the allegations by BJP on the construction of the steel bridge to swindle money, Siddaramaiah said, “It is a false allegation. The project was initiated in 2010 when BJP was in power. In 2014 -15 when I had announced the budget. It is a transparent project and the contract has been given to a reputed company L&T, since L&T being a reputed company was the lowest bidder for the project.
We had asked for a public opinion and 73% of the people responded positively for the construction of the steel bridge. We have given the contract to the most reputed company. BJP has now taken a stand to oppose this bridge, whereas it is their initiative to construct the steel bridge which they are now opposing. They are opposing their own initiative because now the Congress government is in power. Their allegations are politically motivated. The BJP says that we need to find a solution for traffic congestion in Bengaluru. When DVS comes to his home town question him about the steel bridge and note his reply.”
Siddaramaiah further said, “Senior Congress leader and former minister Srinivas Prasad has left the party and we do not have any contact. He has left the party on his own wish, we do not have any differences, he can join any party, he wishes to join.”
Siddaramaiah also said, “A special sand policy will be brought in force for the Coastal region”.
When asked about the opposition for Tipu Jayanti Celebrations in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah said, “Last year we had celebrated Tipu Jayanti and this year too we will celebrate the same. We will take all the measures during the celebrations”.
CM Siddaramaiah replying to the question on Rudresh murder case and the demand by RSS to ban the PFI, said, “We have already arrested 4 persons in this case. They are demanding to ban the PFI, alleging their involvement in the case. Even RSS is a communal organization, RSS sister organizations such as Bajrang Dal, Sri Rama Sene are also the same. Anyone who is involved in the murder of Rudresh will be arrested and action will be taken according to the law. Offence is an offence and no one is above the law”.
District Minister In-charge Ramanath Rai, Minister for Food and Civil supplies U T Khader, former minister Abhaychandra Jain, MLA J R Lobo, MLA Moideen Bava, Chief Whip Ivan D’Souza, Mayor Harinath, Kripa Amar Alva, Mithun Rai and others were also present.
