SC dismisses plea for rescheduling TN poll day
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a plea by a Christian body seeking postponement and rescheduling of the April 18 polling in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry since it coincides with the holy days of Good Friday and Easter.
A bench of Justice S.A. Bobde, Justice S. Abdul Nazeer and Justice Indira Banerjee dismissed the plea after the petitioner contended that three days including April 18 – the polling day – were the holy days for Christian community.
