School HM Arrested For Sexual Harassment in Shankaranarayana
Kundapur: A headmaster of a government primary school in Shankaranarayana has been arrested on charges of sexually harassing the girl students here on Tuesday, September 19.
The arrested has been identified as Srinivas Joshi (59) resident of Airabailu of Siddapura of Kundapur Taluk. He was working as the Headmaster of the school since 5 years.
According to sources, the Headmaster allegedly misbehaved with eight girl students in the school. The girl students complained to their parents. The parents then complained to the Byndoor BEO R Prakash. On Saturday the BEO visited the school and conducted an enquiry during which the Headmaster was proved guilty.
The BEO later filed a complaint in the Shankaranarayana Police Station against the Headmaster. Based on the complaint filed by the BEO, Shankaranarayana Police arrested Srinivas Joshi on Tuesday.
A case has been registered under POCSO act.
