SDPI to Hold ‘Kalladka Chalo’ if Ashraf Family will not get Justice – Riyaz
Mangaluru: “On June 21, SDPI Ammunje Unit President Ashraf Kalayi was brutally murdered by the members of Sangh Parivar. Within three daysof the crime, the police arrested 5 persons in this case. We congratulate the police department for arresting the accused. Now the sixth and main accused is absconding. We have a suspicion that Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and Sharan Pumpwell are protecting the main accused. The main accused Bharat Kumdelu is the Gau Pramukh of Bantwal Taluk and he is the active member of Bajrang Dal. It was a preplanned murder and those who supported the accused should be arrested”, said the State Secretary of SDPI Riyaz Farangipet in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands here on June 28.
Addressing the mediapersons Riyaz said, “The murder of Ashraf is to create communal violence in the district and get political mileage. The BJP is trying to get more seats in DK by creating communal violence. In Ashraf murder case, police have arrested only 5 of the accused and are searching for the prime accused but there are many people involved. After the murder, the prime accused has been absconding and Kalladka Bhat is protecting him. In Mangaluru during a press meet the prime accused in Ashraf murder had shared the dais with Kalladka Bhat and Sharan Pumpwell. The police should investigate this and find out who had sponsored this murder, who is behind the murder and who has provided financial support to the accused to commit the murder?”
Riyaz further said, “From the past three months a number of assaults on Muslims have been reported in Kalladka and surrounding Taluks. Behind the murder of Ashraf there are masterminds. Now the leaders are afraid that if Bharat will be arrested the truth behind the murder will come out so the leaders are protecting Bharat. The police officers should use their power and arrest Sharan Pumpwell and Prabhakar Bhat. They should be investigated and justice should be done to Ashraf’s family. The state government and the police department should take this case seriously and put an end to communal violence in the district.”
“If the district administration and the government will fail to provide justice to Ashraf family SDPI will gather all the organizations under “Jilleya Samarasyakkagi Janateya Okkuta” and hold “Kalladka Chalo”. We will also call for a district bandh and gherao the DC office,” Riyaz warned.
SDPI State Committee member Jalil K, SDPI District General secretary Athaulla Jokatte, Iqbal I M R, Ayaz K and Sahul S H were also present.
