All the participants from across the UAE had gathered at Zabeel Park for the Annual Sports Day. There was plenty of excitement and competition in the air as the participants of all age groups took part in various events.

The Sports Day began with a 2-minute silent prayer and a welcome speech by Vice President, Dharmendra Bangera. President, Manish Karkera took over by welcoming all the participants to the Sports Day and inviting them to take part in the events with the ethos of true sportsmanship.

Certainly, when you exercise or play sports, a healthy warm-up is a good way to prepare to improve your performance. Hence, under the expert guidance of Rajesh Pallikere, all had a short session of laughter Yoga with gentle warm-up techniques for all the participants to stretch up their muscles and prepare to do their best in the ensuing events.

There were many exciting events like Sprint, Relay Race, One-Leg Hopping Race, Skipping Race, Lemon-n-spoon Race and Sack Race for all adults. The participants performed amazingly and the spectators screamed to applaud and cheer the participants. The game of ‘Tarai Kat’ was the most spectacular event because it was fun to see the participants bowling the coconuts to break the opponent’s one. ’Lagori’ was another exciting game which reminded the adult participants of their bygone days.

‘I can help you mummy’ was an exciting game for kids and ‘Feed me my baby’ game gave a good opportunity to kids and parents to participate in a sports event together. Obstacle Race, Sack Race, Relay Race were some of the events organized for the junior category kids (6-12 years), which they enjoyed fully.

Last but not the least, thanks to all our volunteers who hit things off perfectly well and contributed to the success of the event.

Post games Holi celebration also added more hues to the Sports Day! It was a riot of colours as all the members celebrated this extravagant festival by throwing colors on each other. Every nook and corner presented a colorful sight and the atmosphere was full of social merriment.

Vice President, Dharmendra Bangera jointly with President Manish Karkera made the inspirational concluding speech. After delivering the speech, the winners were awarded the prizes. To grace this eventful occasion Venkappa Ullal (Father of Rajesh Ullal) gave away the final award consisting a gold biscuit for the raffle winner amongst the participants, which was won by Sanvi Kiran. Certificate of Participation and a return gift for actively taking part in all the events was given to all the participants. The trophy was awarded to the winning team amidst applause and cheers.

Everyone enjoyed the Sports Day very much and the 2nd Annual Sports Day was a big success. The enthusiastic support of members and their families made it a memorable day for everyone. Good sportsmanship prevailed throughout the day and every player did their best.

Thanks to all the participants, volunteers and donors for making the event one to remember!
