Security Tightened in Mangaluru, Section 144 in Place
Mangaluru: The police Commissioner Dr Harsha has imposed section 144 in the police Commissionerate to avoid any untoward incidents from taking place in the city from December 18 night 9.00 pm to December 20 midnight.
As section 144 is in force for 2 days, security has been tightened with Quick Reaction Team (QRT) deployed in the city.
Speaking to the mediapersons Dr Hsrsha said, “After the implementation of NRC and CAB in the country, many organisations have staged protests and are planning to hold protests in the City. There are rumours that some organisations in spite of Section 144 in place, will stage a protest in Mangaluru inviting students to join in large numbers. Meanwhile, Muslim organisations have denied holding any such protest and have assured their full cooperation in maintaining the law and order”.
