Seems like a Hide-n-Seek Game! Weekdays No Lockdown, but Sunday Total Lockdown?

Mangaluru: This lockdown game seems just like an Hide-n-Seek game, where week days from Monday to Saturday are observed as no lockdown days, while Total Lockdown is enforced on Sunday. Does it make any sense, absolutely NOT! However, people have no option than to stick to the rules ordered by DC Sindhu Roopesh, under the direction from government and district minister-in-charge Kota Srinivas poojary, a decision taken as a measure to contain coronavirus infection. In addition to Sunday lockdown which starts from 9 pm tonight, night curfew still remains unchanged, which is from 9 am-5am Monday to Saturday.

People, including the shop owners were overwhelmed when lockdown was lifted on Thursday, 23 July- and life looks going on smoothly far better than those lockdown days. So why even bother to have a total lockdown on a Sunday, when most of the people are in their homes anyhow. Seems like our netas are hooked on stupidity, and nothing much can we do, I guess. Now what happened to the assurances given by Karnataka CM Yediyurappa who had finally said “No more lockdown, instead stable economy necessary to fight pandemic. People can resume work and businesses as usual, outside containment zones. A stable economy is essential for the state to combat the coronavirus pandemic effectively. However, lockdown rules will continue to be enforced in containment zones. However, I humbly request the people of Karnataka — with folded hands — to wear masks and to practice social distancing. This is the only way to combat COVID-19, at least till a vaccine is found,” and this was said in a video address streamed online on YouTube and Facebook.

Reiterating his statement that lockdown was not a solution to contain Covid-19, the CM urged the cooperation of citizens to help the state overcome the crisis situation linked to the pandemic. “The state has adopted the ‘5T strategy’ effectively and will continue to enhance the same — trace, track, test, treat, and technology. Instructions have been given to all testing facilities to ensure results are provided within 24 hours after collection of samples” said CM. Therefore, WHY ONCE AGAIN TOTAL SUNDAY LOCKDOWN’?. How much difference does Sunday make from other week days, when there is no lockdown. And since tomorrow, being a total lockdown, people will be storming the shops to buy their essentials, flouting social distancing, and creating a chaos? How foolish and senseless this could be!
