Self Quarantine for Journalists who Attended Press meet on July 31 at Congress Office
Mangaluru: “Former MLC Ivan D’Souza has tested positive for the Coronavirus on August 1. In this connection journalists who had attended the press meet at the Congress office on July 31 should undergo self-quarantine’, stated a press release, issued through the information department from the DC office on August 2.
On July 31, KPCC President D K Shivakumar had visited Mangaluru to meet the party leaders and workers. On the same day, a press meet was held at the Congress Bhavan, Mallikatta and more than 25 journalists had attended the press meet.
Former MLC Ivan D’Souza also attended the press meet on the same day, and many journalists were in close proximity of the former MLC. As a precautionary measure, those who had attended the press meet should undergo self-quarantine.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra has said that all the journalists who had attended the press meet should closely monitor their health and if they notice any symptoms should contact the hospital for further assistance. They should also restrict their activities and co-operate with the district administration in this regard.
