Seniors Usher New Year 2017 with Fun and Frolic

Mangaluru: As they say better late than never-“The NEW YEAR 2017” Celebrations of the Elders of KMC Nava Chaitanya Bejai and Attavara along with Spoorthi Trust was truly exhilarating. The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. The Chief Guest Dr Ramesh Bhat, Professor of Physiology KMC, Jerardin D’souza, Founder, Mangalore Alzheimer’s Association-MAA, Mrs.Kumudha Ramachandra Rao, Ms.Devipradha Hegde, Dr Nayantara, Dr.Anupama joined in lighting the lamp.

”Though all the Nava Chaitanya Members do YOGA regularly, their weight doesn’t look like reducing ” said DR. Ramesh Bhat in light humour in his Inaugural address. ”Yet it’s important that the members meet and exercise regularly and share their lives joyfully ” he added.

”I may look like a Laughing Buddha , but the Joy and Happiness on Laughing Buddha’s face indicate that just reducing weight alone won’t make you happy” said Jerardin D’Souza in mock humour. ”The joy that I find in these Nava Chaitanya members is truly contagious and adds life to everyday activities” he said in his address.

Mrs.Kumudha Rao blessed all the Nava Chaitanya and Spoorthi Trust members and encouraged them to be active and energetic like her, who at 90 years is a regular guest on all the programs. Dr.Prabha Adhikari, Founder of both KMC Nava Chaitanya and Spoorthi Trust, a Multi faceted Doctor who is truly palliative in her approach to life, was honoured by all the Guests.
.
”My mother is my inspiration” said Dr.Prabha, narrating that at 70 years her mother had a fracture during her last daughter’s wedding, yet she coped bravely and even cooked with a fractured hand, ”I am only 60 and I will manage” said Dr. Prabha, who also has a fracture in her hand, yet attended the program, bowing to the affection of all the members. A brilliant program of fun and frolic followed. There was a medley of songs by Mr Rehaman, brilliantly compered by Mr. Kamath. There were dances, both western and Indian classical. A Skit loaded with humour, all enacted to perfection by all the Nava Chaitanya and Spoorthi members.

Smt.Anusuya Pai welcomed the packed gathering. Smt.Devi Pradha Hegde, her daughter Nidhi, and team, who tirelessly had organized the program thanked everyone instrumental in the organizing in her vote of thanks. There was a round of Housie Housie after a sumptuous lunch. These vintage revelers truly rock by doing exercise every day and interacting which gives joy and energy to their daily lives.
