Senthil Should Withdraw his Resignation and Continue his service as IAS officer – Rai
Mangaluru: “It is very sad that the hardworking Deputy Commissioner DC Sasikanth Senthil has resigned from the Indian Administrative Services. While resigning from the IAS post, DC Sasikanth Senthil had stated in his letter, “Fundamental building blocks of our diverse democracy are being compromised in an unprecedented manner”. Being an IAS officer they have been trained in all the fields and such an officer resigning from the Administrative services creates doubts. He worked relentlessly during the floods in Beltangady providing timely services. But his sudden decision of resigning from the IAS has pained us a lot. I request Sasikanth Senthil to withdraw his resignation and continue his service as an IAS officer”, said former minister Ramanath Rai in a press meet held at the DCC Office, Mallikatta here on September 8.
Addressing the mediapersons Ramnath Rai said, “As soon as I came to know about DC Sasikanth Senthil’s resignation, I contacted him on phone and asked him to withdraw his resignation so that he can continue his service as IAS officer. The BJP is involved in propaganda against Sasikanth Senthil. When there were floods in our district, DC Sasikanth Senthil worked round the clock to rehabilitate the victims. But our prime minister was visiting Haryana to attend a rally. BJP is interested only in winning the elections and not in providing compensation or relief to the flood victims. PM Modi is busy getting ready for the byelections. BJP is interested only in winning the elections while the Congress has fought for the freedom of our country.”
Ramanath Rai further said, “During the recent heavy rains and floods, many people lost their property and lives. But the BJP government led by PM Modi was least bothered to provide compensation to the victims. To win the elections, Narendra Modi gives anti-Pakistan statements. Similarly, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan gives anti-Indian statements. There is no difference between Narendra Modi and ImranKhan, both are like children of the same mother. For their political gain, they are ready to stoop to any level. We cannot expect anything good from such people”.
When asked about the allegations on Sasikanth Senthil in connection to sand by some people, Ramanath Rai said, “Whatever good he can do as DC he has done it, Senthil started the sand bazar to provide sand to the people. Now after he has resigned, people talk against him. No one spoke against Senthil until he resigned, why are they accusing him now? Why did they not speak about it when he was the DC? After Senthil spoke about the central government people have started to speak against him. Accusations of Sasikanth Senthil indulging in illegal activities in regard to the sand policy is far from the truth. The BJP itself was saying that Senthil is an upright man!”
