Seven persons arrested in Tasleen Murder Case
Udupi: Seven persons were arrested by the Hiriyadka police in connection with the murder of Sheikh Mohammed Tasleen, here on 19 July.
The arrested are Saifuddin, Divakar Kumbar, Imthiyaz, Santhosh, Divakar Achar, Shanker and Haneef. They were produced before the judicial magistrate court and remanded to judicial custody.
On July 14, Sheikh Mohammed Tasleen was found dead in the forest area of Madaga near Hiriyadka. The incident came to light in the evening on July 14. The police recovered a black Volkswagen car, bearing registration number KA 20 Z 9435, 300 meters from the crime scene. The murder weapon was said to be a hockey stick which was also recovered by the police from the scene. Tasleen had been murdered at another spot and his body was then thrown in Madaga.
The main cause for the murder might be financial dispute, said the police.
Under the direction of Udupi SP Annamalai, ASP Vishnuvardhan, DySP Kumarswami, Brahmavar CPI Shrikanth, Hiriyadka PSI Vinayak and other police officials took part in the investigations.
