Sexual Assault on Minor Girl: Court finds accused guilty, sentence on Nov 25
Udupi: The district special court has found two young accused of raping a minor girl three years ago and posing her with life threat thereafter, guilty of the offences.
Mukesh Mali (20) and Padam Singh (28) natives of Rajasthan have been found guilty of raping a minor girl in the outskirts of Udupi City. They will be sentenced on November 25.
Both the accused were working in a Tile factory and staying at a rented house near Badagabettu, Udupi.
The family of 15-year-old minor girl was staying in the outskirts of Udupi City. The girl’s father was also working with the accused in the same Tile factory. The accused made friendship with the girl and were visiting her house.
On 8th July 2016 both the accused visited the girl’s house and knocked the door. When the girl opened the door, they kidnapped her and later sexually assaulted her. They then threatened to her with life if she revealed the incident to others. The girl informed her parents and told them what had happened. The parents admitted the girl to the Udupi women and child hospital.
A case was registered in the Udupi Women’s Police station. During the medical test at the hospital, sexual assault was confirmed, and the police had arrested both the accused thereafter.
Judge C M Joshi, ruled that the charges against the accused have been proved, found both guilty of rape and life threat. Public prosecutor, Vijay Vasu Poojary, had appeared in the court on behalf of the prosecution in the case and argued in favour of holding the accused.
