Shaktinagar Area Sealed Down after 2 COVID-19 Positive Cases reported
Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Roopesh using her power as delegated chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority under National Disaster Management Act (NDMA) 2005 by G.O. No. RD 157 TNR 2020 and in exercise of the powers conferred under section 26, 30 and 34 of N DMA 2005, issued under epidemic disease act 1987 by the state government has declared the Specific area of Kakkebettu, Shaktinagar, Padavu Village, Mangaluru Taluk as shown in the sketch) as an Active Containment Zone for patient number P-506 & P-507 who are COVID – 19 positive patients.
The following boundaries bound the containment areas:
No. of residential houses = 22 (Twenty Two)
No. of Shops / Offices = 5 (Five) (Shops – 4 / Offices – 1)
Total Population = 120 (One Hundred and Twenty)
Further, a Buffer Zone of 5 km area around this containment zone is as follows:
No of residential houses = 4,800 (Four Thousand and Eight Hundred)
No. of Shops / Offices = 1,350 (One Thousand Three Hundred and Fifty) ‘Shops – 1,315 / Offices – 351
Total Population = 73,000 (Seventy Three Thousand)

For effective implementation of COVID- 19 virus control measures, Commissioner, Mangaluru City Corporation, Mangaluru is appointed as the Incident Commander who will be overall in-charge of the Containment Zone. The Incident Commander will take necessary actions as specified in the containment zone notification referred above.
