Shanthi Kiran Counseling Centre Celebrates Decennial
Mangaluru: Decennial Celebrations of Shanthi Kiran Counseling Centre (SKCC) was held at Bajjodi on November 5. Bishop of Mangalore Peter Paul Saldanha Celebrated the holy mass. Many priests and religious joined the mass. A short documentary on history, activities and testimonials of beneficiaries were presented after the mass. Fr Dionysius Vas, Rector of St. Aloysius Institutions, Mangalore was the Chief Guest. In his address, he spoke on “Challenges of the present youth and the need of accompaniment”. The support systems of the youth of today are weakening and we need counselors with patience to sit with them and guide them. In his presidential address, the bishop explained the benefits received by the beneficiaries through counseling. Msgr Maxim Noronha, Vicar General, Fr Arun Lobo, the Director, priests, religious, counselors and august gathering was present for the programme.
Shanthi Kiran Counseling Centre was started to provide help and care in mental health by helping the individuals to understand themselves, their environment and to live a successful and productive life. It was inaugurated on 20th October 2007 by Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza.
