Sharath Madival Murder case finally cracked, Two arrested
Mangaluru: “Two persons have been arrested in the Sharath Madival murder case. On July 4 Sharath was assaulted by a group of men. In this connection, a special investigation team was formed to investigate the case. Team consisted of thirty members who since one month professionally handled this case. All the officers worked day and night to crack this case”, said HIP Western Range Harishekaran in a press meet held at the HIP office here on August 15.
Addressing the media persons IGP said, “Our team went to various places in the country and collected all the necessary information and arrested Abdul Shafi (36), from Haladi Sajipa Bantwal and Kalil Ulla (30), PFI president from Chamrajnagar.
IGP Harishekaran further said, “To crack this case, officers worked day and night. Because of their hard work we have positive results in this case. We have visited Jails in Belgaum, Mangaluru, Karwar and Mysuru. Our team also went around Udupi, Karwar, Hassan, Mandya, Chamrajnagar, Bengaluru, Tamil Nadu Border and Maharastra and collected all the necessary information. According to the information gathered we have taken two persons into our custody. We have produced them to the court and taken them into police custody. Another 4 to 5 persons will be arrested soon in this case”.
Harishekaran also said, “The special investigation team will arrest the others involved in the Sharath murder case any moment. The operation was carried out by SP Sudheer Kumar Reddy, ACP CCB Valentine D’Souza, CCB Inspector Sunil Nayak, PI Puttur Mahesh Prasad, DCIB Inspector Amanullah Khan, PSI Beltangady Ravi and many other police constables. A suitable reward will be given to them and also a special entry will be made in their service record. In my tenure, I am rewarding them Rs 25,000 cash.”
When asked about the delay in arresting the accused in Sharath murder case, Harishekaran said, “Whenever there is an incident, the information and evidence we get is important. In this case, we have already questioned 50 persons. This being a very sensitive case we should be careful. We have arrested two of the accused for conspiracy and harbouring the criminals. My team is divided into different groups and we will get further information in this case. It is immature now to say the motive of the incident. The motive behind this murder will be cleared once all the accused will be arrested.”
