Shiradi Ghat to open for traffic on July 15 or 16
Sakleshpur (Hassan dist): With the completion of the second phase of concretisation works, the Shiradi Ghat will be opened for traffic either on July 15 or 16, said authorities.
A team of officials from National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) inspected the stretch on Thursday. The concretisation of the 12.38 km stretch was started on January 20 at a cost of Rs 74 crore. All arrangements are being made for the inauguration.
NHAI Chief Engineer Ganesh said that the concretisation works are over except for a few minor works like installation of boards and others. Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has been invited to inaugurate the stretch. If he gives his approval, the stretch would be open for the public on July 15 or 16, he added.
