Shiroor Swamiji gets illegal shops in Sri Krishna Temple Parking area Demolished
Udupi: The workers of Sri Laxmivarateertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math on Friday, January 19 demolished three illegal shops which were functioning in the parking area of Sri Krishna Math.
According to sources, Sri Laxmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math had bought the land for Sri Krishna Temple during his Paryaya tenure. He had planned to build a lodge and bus-stand in that land. But he had donated the land to Sri Krishna Temple to be used for Parking vehicles. Some members of the Temple Trust misused the land and converted it into a commercial area with shops. The Swamiji had many times warned the shopkeepers to vacate the shops but they ignored his warnings. Shiroor Swamiji also alleged that the three shops were running because of their close association with Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji who had just completed the 2 years of Paryaya. The illegal shops were running for the past 12 years.
On Friday Sri Laxmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math personally arrived with a demolition team and instructed them to demolish the three shops.
Swamiji also alleged that the close associates of Pejawar Swamiji were collecting Parking fees illegally and not depositing it with the Sri Krishna Math. I had donated the land for the good cause of Sri Krishna Temple and they are looting the temple money which cannot be tolerated. I was waiting for the Pejawar Swamiji to complete his Paryaya Tenure and today we conducted the demolition drive, said the Swamiji.
