Dr Patil and members of Kannada community later on took him on a special tour of the British Parliament.
The Basaveshwara statue was unveiled in the London Borough of Lambeth by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi on 14th Nov 2015.
This is the first conceptual statue to be approved by the British Government in the vicinity of the British Parliament as a mark of respect to the Indian Philosopher. Basaveshwara promoted democratic ideals and gender equality during the 12th century.
Shivanna looking great for his age.
Also, look at the contrast in ideologies seen in London. One group says ‘kaayakave kailaasa’!! Then there is another group that preaches death as punishment for apostasy and blasphemy!! Still, the illiterates find sanaathana dharma to be intolerant!!! What a bunch of jokers!!
