Shobha should Resign for Misleading Central Govt – Ivan D’Souza

Mangaluru: “The MP of Udupi and Chikkamagaluru Shobha Karandlaje prepared a list of Hindus who have died in the district as well as in the state and handed it over to the Home minister of India demanding for an NIA probe in all the 23 death cases. Being an MP Shobha has exposed her motive in the preparation of the list. While preparing the list she has made a mistake of declaring a person who is alive as dead. BJP is trying to create communal unrest, they think that if there is communal unrest in the district it is a victory for them. Shobha is trying to get the votes by instigating communal unrest and pressurise the central minister to open and NIA office in Mangaluru. Shobha should resign and apologise to the people of the state. BJP has no moral right to rule the state”, said the chief whip Ivan D’Souza in a press meet held at the DCC office Mallikatta here on July 20.

Addressing the mediapersons Ivan D’Souza said, “Shobha is the MP for the people of Udupi and Chikkamagaluru and not only for the Hindu community. Discriminating and blaming a particular community is the intention of BJP. The BJP is blaming the Congress and saying, Congress is pleasing the minority for vote-bank. When Jalil Karopady was murdered Congress did not hold any protests because we did not want to create any violence”.

Ivan further said, “Even Shobha said that if she will be arrested it will be the last nail in Congress party’s Coffin. The opposition is threatening and delivering speeches of setting the district and state on fire. BJP is violating the law by protesting in the district despite section 144. After violating the law, they question the government and ask, why did you not arrest us when we were violating section 144? By handing over the false information to the central minister Shobha has brought shame on herself. People of the district are hurt by her false information. When we are into politics we should follow ethics. She should apologise to the people of this country for the injustice she has done to the people of DK. Shobha should resign immediately”.

Ivan also said, “Former CM Yeddyurappa wrote a letter to the police commissioner that “A case of serious misconduct during the investigation on the part of the Bengaluru city police. N R Santhosh is my relative and he is working with me for the pasts 7 years. On July 15, 2017, midnight ACP Badidgar and his team came to my house and entered my house through the cellar and they searched the house and inquired about N R Santhosh, they asked our security people to show the room of N R Santhosh and since Santhosh was not in my house police left the place. It appears to me that the concerned police officers are determined to fix Santhosh as an accused in a case in which to the best of my knowledge, he is not involved”. Police got the information about the involvement of Santhosh in a kidnap and assault case and had gone to Yeddyurappa’s house for investigation”.

The BJP is trying to come to power by creating confusion in the district, it also shows how capable BJP is to rule the state. BJP has no moral right to rule this state. By handing over false information Shobha has auctioned the prestige of the state. Shobha did not mention the murder of Vinayak Baliga, Praveen Poojary, Harish Poojary and many others. What is the reason for her to drop their names from the list? Is she afraid that she will get fewer votes if she mentions the names of Vinayak Baliga and Praveen Poojary? Shobha is misleading the Central government, she is concealing the facts. We are seeking legal opinion to file a criminal case against her.According to the Constitution Shobha has lied in demanding for an NIA investigation”.

President of the District Congress Harish Kumar released the booklet containing the achievements and work done by Chief Whip Ivan D’Souza in the three years of his tenure on the occasion. B H Qader, Melwyn, Mamatha Gatti, Deputy Mayor Rajaneesh and Seema were also present.
