Short film ‘Sanchalana’ on sand extraction released
Kundapur: The 32-minute short film titled ‘Sanchalana’, produced by a team of youth on illegal sand extraction was released on Saturday, at the Bhandarkars College Auditorium Kundapur here on September 3.
The short film was released in the presence of H Shantharam president of Bhandarkars College, Vilas Nayak president Udupi district Vishwa Hindu Parishath, A S N Hebbar well-known Advocate Kundapur, Karthikeya Madhyastha Entrepreneur and other dignitaries.
The team was inspired after the assault on Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis, when she had made a surprise visit to the spots where illegal sand extraction was rampant in the district, four months ago.
According to the Director Arjun Das, We have not directly featured the attack on the DC in the movie. However a journalism student who does a sting operation on sand mafia and gets trapped and later what happens to her is the storyline. The hero in the short film investigates the murder of the actress in the film. The short film is associated with the sand mining issues, non availability of sand to the poor, sand mafia and other issues surrounding sand mining.
The movie also has romance and fights. The fight scenes will attract the viewers. Usually short films do not have fight scenes, but we have added some scenes.
The film is produced under the banner of Imphana Productions under the leadership of Raghavendra Sherigar. Rhitik Murdeshwar and Srinidhi Shetty has played the lead role in the short film. Arjun Das has written the script and screenplay and has also directed the short film. Sunil, Nagaraj Acharya, Raghav are assistant directors.
Sandesh Mangaluru and Jayant Aithal are the music composers. The songs are recorded at Riddi Creations. Siraj Kotesshwar has supervised Art, Vinayak Malya has edited the Short Film. Akshay Kumar is the director of Photography. ForthFocus Group is promoting the film online.The songs are sung by Dany Sheldon, Jyothi Kamath, Deepika Raghavendra. The fights are composed by Manjunath Koteshwar.
