Shwetha Murder Case, Two Youth Arrested After Shootout at Anekal
Bengaluru: The Hebbagodi police have arrested two youth in connection with the murder of Shwetha at Muthyala Maduvu, Anekal here on September 22.
The arrested have been identified as Velu alias Psycho (23) and Balakrishna alias Balu (27) from Muthyala Maduvu, Anekal.
According to the police, on September 10, the accused brutally murdered Shwetha at her residence and decamped with gold ornaments. In this connection, a case was filed in Hebbagodi police station under section 259/20 u/s 396 IPC.
On September 22, on getting reliable information about the accused hiding in Muthyala Maduvu, Anekal, the Hebbagodi Police Inspector Gowtham along with Banneghatta PSI Govind and team had gone to apprehend Velu and Balakrishna. When they tried to arrest them, the accused attacked the police with sharp weapons. In the attack, police constable Shivakumar was injured. In retaliation and self-defence, Police officers Gowtham and Govind opened fire at Velu and Balakrishna injuring them in the leg.
The injured police Constable and the accused have been admitted to the Anekal Government Hospital for treatment.
