Siddaramaiah Horlicks for BJP, Rai should go for Thirthayatra instead of Jatha – MP Nalin

Mangaluru: “After the Congress came to power a number of Hindu activists have been murdered. BJP has demanded the investigation of all these murders, but the state government led by CM Siddaramaiah has failed to control the killings of Hindu activists. Because of the negligence of the state government, on December 6 one more Hindu activist Paresh Mesta was brutally killed in Honnavar. We demand Paresh Mesta’s murder case be handed over to the NIA. We will also hold a protest in Honnavar on December 18”, said MP Nalin Kumar Kateel in a press meet held at the BJP office here on December 12.

Addressing the mediapersons MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “We do not have trust in the State government because when Paresh Mesta was killed CM Siddaramaiah was attending a programme in Honnavar but never showed any concern towards this incident. Today the District Minister In-charge Ramanath Rai along with other organizations is holding a Jatha “Samarasyada Nadige Sauhardatheyedege” from Farangipet to Mani. Ramanath Rai is the District minister in-charge and not the minister for Bantwal to hold Jatha from Farangipet to Mani. The Jatha is held because Ramanath Rai has the fear of losing the next elections and to please the people of Bantwal he has organized this Jatha.”

MP Nalin further said, “The Congress government has failed to give good governance to the people and they have the fear of losing the forthcoming elections. In order to hide their fear and please the people from one particular community, Rai has organized the ‘Samarasyada Nadige Sauhardatheyedege’ from Farangipet to Mani. If Rai wants to protect harmony and brotherhood let he organize the Jatha from Mangaluru to Sampya or Sampya to Mangaluru. Rai is making a drama by holding Samarasyada Nadige Sauhardatheyedege, instead, let him go for Thirthayatra. Because of Rai’s negligence, a number of murders have taken place in the district. There is no peace and harmony in Bantwal, so Rai is holding the Jatha to build trust among the people. If Rai is honestly working to bring peace and harmony, let him call for a meeting with the leaders of all political parties and discuss on bringing peace and harmony in the district.”

MP Nalin also said, “The drug mafia In our district is rampant, all the murders have taken place because of drugs. I have requested the police department to curb the drug menace and the police have arrested many drug peddlers and traffickers. Let the minister order the police to arrest all the drug peddlers to stop the murders. If the drug mafias will not be controlled, peace and harmony in our district cannot be achieved. The district minister is trying to bring the Kerala model of politics to Dakshina Kannada by including the CPI(M) leaders to the Jatha. This Jatha is being held for vote bank and not for harmony, he said.”

When asked about what evidence BJP has to claim that Paresh Mesta was murdered, MP Nalin said, “Seeing the body we have come to know that it is murder. To know more about the suspicious death of Paresh Mesta we demand that the case is handed over to the NIA.”

When questioned about the good support for BJP in DK are they trying the same tactics in Honnavar? MP Nalin said, “We have good support throughout the state. Until CM Siddaramaiah rules the state we will get good support from the people of Karnataka. Siddaramaiah is “Horlicks” for us and BJP has good future.”

District BJP President Sanjeev Matandoor, Kishore Rai, Brijesh Chowta, Harish Punja, Harikrishna Bantwal, Jitendra Kottari, Nitin Kumar and Sudarshan Moodbidri were also present.
