‘Siddaramaiah is a Terrorist his name should be changed to Saddam Sultan’ – MP Nalin

Mangaluru: “I do not know whether Tipu was a terrorist or not but now I know Siddaramaiah is a terrorist and we need to change his name as Saddam Sultan. From past one year, the majority of the people are against Tipu Jayanti, because according to the history Tipu means terrorism. Tipu has attacked many places and converted thousands of people. Siddaramaiah is appeasing the Minorities. According to Islam, birthdays are not celebrated, by celebrating Tipu Jayanti the government is insulting Islam. Tipu Sultan had destroyed churches in Iruvail and Ikala and the Christian community suffered a lot of atrocities under Tipu. Even though Christians and Muslims had suffered a lot because of Tipu, we are against him because he killed a number of Kodavas who are Hindus. Siddaramaiah is also a terrorist because he supports Tipu who had killed Hindus, Christians, and Muslims”, said MP Nalin Kumar Kateel at a protest held in front of the DC office here on November 8.

Last year during the Tipu Jayanti celebrations three persons were killed. In Bengaluru many women have been raped, terrorists are playing with the lives of the people. Terrorism has been increased in the state, rape murder has increased and ISIS terrorists have entered our State spreading fear among the people, but CM Siddaramaiah is busy planning to celebrate Tipu Jayanti. Siddaramaiah lacks brains since he said, “Those involved in Communal violence should give a bond of Rs 10 lakh, instead of demanding a bond from the people, let his cabinet Ministers give a bond of Rs 1 crore promising that they will not create violence in the state. I challenge the police to take a bond from Siddaramaiah if they have the courage, for any untoward incidents happening during Tipu Jayanti, we will hold CM Siddaramaiah responsible. There are only two more days left for Siddaramaiah’s Tipu Jayanti celebrations. If Siddaramaiah wants peace in the state, let him drop the celebrations or else there may be violence and the state government will be held responsible”.

MP Nalin also said, “In a village, 21 persons joined the ISIS and they are very active. Intelligence report say that in Dakshina Kannada the ISIS is very active and they have prepared a list of the leaders to be eliminated, what has the government done? The state government has no courage to face the ISIS. Last year in Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada there was violence during Tipu Jayanti and many people lost their lives. I warn the state government to drop the celebrations or the CM and HM should take direct responsibility for the consequences. The Court has said, Tipu did not fight for freedom against British, he fought to retain his empire. If you are the chief minister and have any concern for the people, drop the Tipu Jayanti celebrations. When the activists lost their lives Siddaramaiah did not shed any tears, but when cow traffickers lost their lives, The CM went to give compensation to them”.

Capt Ganesh Karnik said, “Tipu was a murderer, he was a cruel man, I question Siddaramaiah on what basis is he celebrating Tipu Jayanti? What evidence does Siddaramaiah have on Tipu Sultan fighting for freedom against the British? What is the motive of celebrating Tipu Jayanti? Tipu Sultan had destroyed temples and churches, why then is Siddaramaiah adamant to celebrate Tipu’s Jayanti? Tipu was an anti-Kannadiga and had changed Kannada named cities into Islamic names. He had destroyed temples and built mosques. Instead of celebrating Tipu’s Jayanti let he celebrate the Jayanti of people who sacrificed their lives for the country. The government should drop Tippu Jayanti celebrations and do justice with the people of Karnataka”.

Monappa Bhandary said, “Chief minister Siddaramaiah is trying to create violence since the people in the state are living in peace and harmony. By celebrating Tipu Jayanti, the CM has created confusion among the people. Chief minister Siddaramaiah is celebrating Tipu Jayanti on November 10, but according to history, Tipu was not born on November 10. If Siddaramaiah believes in the history let him read and understand history before telling BJP leaders to read history. I think Siddaramaiah’s relative was born on November 10 and he is celebrating that day as Tipu Jayanti. Siddaramaiah should not play with the sentiments of the people of the state, let him drop the Tipu Jayanti celebrations and not encourage violence in the state.”

Anwar Manippadi and Sulochana G K Bhat also spoke on the occasion.  Deputy Mayor Sumitra Kariya, Sanjeeva Matandoor, former MLA Yogish Bhat, Ravishankar Mijar, Roopa D Bangera, Satyajith Suratkal, Rahim Uchil and others were also present.
