Siddaramaiah should use Commonsense on Drought Relief funds – BSY

Udupi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should use his common sense than targeting the Union government on the release of drought funds, the expenses should be first borne by state government and then adjusted to the grant released by the central government said Former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. He was speaking to mediapersons during his visit to participate in the Garadi Sammelan organized in Udupi here on January 24.

The drought relief fund has been sanctioned to Karnataka and the grant will be received in another 2 days or so. The Chief Minister should first release funds from the State as relief measure and then adjust the central grant to the expenses borne by the state. It makes no sense in pointing fingers at the central government for every issue than trying to solving it.

We are firm on our stand on holding the Kambala (buffalo race), the union ministers are visiting Goa for the election campaign, and effective dialogue will be held with them. Every effort will be made to restore the pride to the traditional sports of coastal Karnataka. Union Minister Ravishanker Prasad and Prakash Javdekar will be effectively consulted regarding the Kambala.

While questioned on IT raids on the houses of Mahila Congress Chief Lakshmi Hebbalkar and Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi he declined to comment.

Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje, BJP District President Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde and others were present.
