Siddaramaiah to launch Rs 445 crore worth Development Projects in Kaup on Jan 8 – Sorake

Udupi: Development projects worth Rs 445 crore initiated by former minister and Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake for the Kaup Assembly constituency are ready for Inauguration. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will arrive in Kaup on January 8 to launch the development projects and lay the foundation for other infrastructural developments in the constituency said the MLA of Kaup, Vinay Kumar Sorake.

He was speaking at a press meet held at the Press Club, Kaup on Friday, January 8. Sorake said that the Chief Minister had positively responded to announce the Kaup Town Municipality and Taluk in last 4.5 years. On behalf of the people of Kaup a Public felicitation will be held during his visit.

While the completed projects worth Rs 38.677 crore will be inaugurated, the foundation stone for other projects worth Rs 407.51 crore would be laid on the same day. The Kaup Town Municipal Building built at a cost of Rs 5 crore. The Kaup Taluk Hospital worth Rs 1.30 crore, Road work worth Rs 26.377 crore, Lake, Gardens, crematorium development work worth Rs 5 crore, SC/ST development work worth Rs 5 crore will be inaugurated, he said.

The chief minister will also lay the foundation stone for the cyclone shelter building worth Rs 2.45 crore, Road work under various departments worth Rs 76.033, Bridges worth Rs 2 crore, Nagarothana work worth Rs 8.50 crore, Solid waste plant worth Rs 5 crore, Sea wall protection work worth Rs 179.45 crore, residential school worth Rs 10 crore, Gram Vikas work worth Rs 5 crore, Government Polytechnic building worth Rs 8 crore, Drinking water facility work worth Rs 61 crore, Science center worth Rs 50 crore and other development work on the day, said Sorake.

As many as Ten Thousand beneficiaries will receive help from various departments. Ten Thousand people including women self-help groups, women associations are expected to attend the programme. In last four years, Rs 1700 crore grant has been spent for the development of the Kaup Assembly constituency.

The Notification of Kaup Taluk will be finalized on 7 January. 30 Gram Panchayats will be coming under the new Kaup Taluk. For the convince of the people, Nada Kacheris will be come up at Shirva, Padubidri, Hiriyadka and Kaup. A memorandum will be submitted to the Chief Minister during the programme with demands of a Mini Vidhana Soudha, Hejamadi Harbour etc, he added.

Udupi District Congress president Janardhan Thonse, KPCC secretary Deviprasad Shetty, Udupi district election campaign committee president Dinesh Putran, Women Congress district president Geetha Wagle, former ZP president Sarasu D Bangera, District Youth Congress president Vishwas Ameen, Kaup Block Congress president Naveen Chandra Shetty, Congress leaders Sudhir Hegde, Sowya, Divakar Shetty and Vinay Ballal were present in the press meet.
