SIO comes up with Students Manifesto for LS Polls
Udupi: Students and youth are engulfed in various problems across the country. The Government and private Educational institutions have failed to highlight the problems faced by them. It is in this milieu, Students Islamic organization of India, Karnataka zone has decided to come up with the Student Manifesto in order to make the Student issues like Education and Employment a topic of discussion and Public Discourse.
“As per recommendations by various education commissions, the expenditure on education needs should be increased to 8% of the GDP to train its vast human resource to be competitive with the rest of the developing world and to rectify earlier injustice in educational expenditures,” Kodibengre noted.
Emphasising on employment, he said, “All the vacancies in government posts and public services must be filled. They must ensure appointments in all the vacant government posts within the next six months.”
The section on education in the manifesto sharply criticizes the central and state governments for their poor implementation of the Right to Education Act and makes a number of recommendations to improve efficiency and transparency.
