Some People involved in Misleading Kavya Suicide Case – Capt Ganesh Karnik

Mangaluru: “Badminton Player Kavya committed suicide on July 20, at the Alva’s Education Foundation. Her death is unnatural, the police have filed a Medico Legal Case and the investigation is in progress. Some of the media, as well as a small group of people, are trying to defame Dr Mohan Alva and his institution which the BJP condemns. A situation has been created in Kavya’s case putting thousands of students, their parents, teaching and non-teaching staff in fear which the BJP condemns. Let proper investigation be done and the guilty punished”, said MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik in a press meet held at the BJP office here on August 2.

Addressing the mediapersons Ganesh Karnik said, “From the past three decades Alva’s Education Foundation is imparting quality education. It is the only Institution in the entire country to impart education to 26000 students. Along with education Alva’s is promoting Sports and culture which we all should appreciate, we need to think whether such an institution exists in the whole country. Right from the beginning, Dr Mohan Alva has expressed his willingness in co-operating with any kind of investigation”.

Ganesh Karnik further said, “A small group of people who cannot digest the success of Dr Mohan Alva are trying to defame him. There is a conspiracy to defame Dr Mohan Alva. Yes, we all feel sad for Kavya because she was a national-level Badminton player and was the only daughter to her parents. We have concern for her family. But targeting Dr Mohan Alva and commenting against him in the social media is not a good development. The police should investigate the case soon and justice should be done. If anyone is found guilty they should be punished.”

Capt Ganesh Karnik also said, “As Kavya was a National level Badminton Player her family should be compensated. I urge the government to compensate Kavya’s family. Media should stop giving judgement on Kavya’s suicide case, some of the media without knowing the facts are trying to divert the case. The police should investigate the case thoroughly and the truth behind Kavya’s death should come out.”

BJP President Sanjeev Matandoor, Monappa Bhandary, Kishore Rai, Ravishanker Mijar and Jithendra Kottari were also present.
