Son Arrested for Killing Father over Land dispute
Uppinangady: The Bantwal police have arrested a person in connection with the killing of his father.
The arrested has been identified as Abubackar alias Monu (37), a resident of Kudlur Ram Nagar, Uppinangady.
According to the police, there was some misunderstanding between Adam and his son Abubacker regarding the land. On January 14, Adam went to his son’s vegetable shop where there was an argument over the land leading to a fight between them. Abubacker lost patience and in a fit of rage assaulted his father Adam with an iron rod. Adam was rushed to the hospital in Mangaluru by Abubacker. Adam was unconscious, and his condition was deteriorating. Knowing the consequences of his action Abubacker fled from the hospital. Adam, on January 15 night died in the hospital.
In this connection, a case was filed in the Uppinangady police station. Under the guidance of SP Bhushan, a special team was made under the able leadership of Puttur rural police inspector Anil Kulkarni to nab the culprit. On January 17, Abubacker while trying to escape from Uppinangady to Bengaluru by bus was arrested in the Gadiyar bus stop in Bantwal. The Bantwal police have taken Abubacker into custody and are investigating.
Abubacker was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
Under the able guidance of SP Bhushan Borase, the operation was carried out by the crime department Sanjeev Purush, Laxman K G, Iqbal, Palanivelu, Uday Rai, Taranath, Satishchandra, Vijay Gowda, Devadas, Irshad Padangadi and Sachin. SP Bhushan appreciated the swift action in nabbing the culprit and announced cash prize and appreciation letter for the team.
