She confirmed having received a posting order from the department of personnel and training (DOPT) to serve as an SP in the NIA.

She said it was part of the routine to serve in the Union level for some years. She would take up the new post after the state government issues a notification to this effect.

She is known as a tough cop. While serving in Davanagere as SP, she had hit the headlines by slapping unruly MLA of the then-ruling party, BJP.

During her tenure in Lokayukta, she had exposed the irregularities committed by Ashwin Rao, the son of former Lokayukta Y Bhaskar Rao, and his associates.

After her transfer to CID as DIG, she unearthed the PUC Chemistry question paper leak, which led to the arrest of 11 persons involved.
