Sorcerer Held for Sexual Abuse of 13-year-old Girl
Beltangady: A man engaged in sorcery has been accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl and arrested under POCSO Act.
The girl was chronically ill and the parents had brought her to the sorcerer for relief. Shekhar Nalke, on the pretext of treating her, made the parents sit outside and took her inside the house.
He then reportedly took her to the washroom and took sexual advantage of her, under threat. After some time, the girl came out of the rear of the house crying. She told the parents of the outrage committed by the sorcerer.
They immediately reported the matter to the Dharmasthala police and the girl was sent for medical examination. The accused is a married man and has a child. His wife was away when the incident took place, said the police, who have arrested him and booked him under POCSO Act.
