SP Singam Annamalai Visits Old Age Home, Fulfills Desires of Elderly People
Chikkamagaluru: Most of the aged people are spending their lives in old age homes because of many reasons. Disappointed in their unfulfilled craving for a glimpse of their children, they have all cocooned themselves in a solitary world of pained silence. Most of them were confined forever to these old age homes by their own children, without any hope of their coming back to reclaim their parents.
The elderly people of Annapoorna Old Age Home- Chikkamagaluru experienced a happy moment on Tuesday, July 3, when a surprise visit by the “Khadak Police Officer” {Strict and disciplinary Police Officer}, who also has strong concerns towards the old people, the ‘ Singham of Karnataka ‘ K Annamalai SP of Chikkamagaluru district, brought miles of smiles on the faces of these seniors. It was really an emotional saga at the old age home, where tears filled in the eyes of the seniors, because a senior IPS officer had visited their old age home to hear their agony.
An old woman who was always glued to her seat just to watch the working style of Annamalai on television was anticipating to meet this “Person” personally, had her dreams came true, when SP Annamalai personally came and met her on 3 July. This woman wanted to visit and meet the SP in his office but due to her illness she couldn’t make it- but on the request of the management of old age home to SP Annamalai to visit their home, their request was obliged.
Annamalai accepted the invitation to visit the Annapoorna Old age home, where on his arrival was warmly received by the old age home inmates and shared their problems with him without any hesitation. Annamalai also interacted and felt homely with them like their own son and listened to their problems with patience.
The SP inquired the inmates about their family background, health condition, food and medical facilities. He also spent time with the aged and inquired about their well-being and was emotional at times when the elderly narrated their plight.
Before leaving the Old age home SP Annamalai promised the elderly that he would visit again and spend more time with them. No doubt, the much loved and strict police officer by many citizens, SP Annamalai also made a difference in the lives of these elderly at the Old age Home, by his presence.
