In spite of Section 144 in Bantwal, HHS Holds ‘B C Road Chalo’

Bantwal: The Hindu Hitarakshana Samiti staged a protest “B C Road Chalo” in spite of section 144 in force in Batwal in connection with the assault on RSS volunteer Sharat, at B C Road here on July 7.

The BJP leaders namely MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP Shobha Karandlaje, Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar, former MLA Padmanabh Kottari participated in the protest.

The people of Bantwal are living in fear, the latest developments have forced the shop owners to voluntarily pull down the shutters.

In Bantwal Taluk section 144 has been extended, but the Hindu Hitarakshana Samiti in a press meet said that they will be holding “B C Road Chalo”. After the announcement, the police have taken all the necessary measures and deployed additional police force. The police have held a route march on the main roads of Bantwal. The Fire service has also deployed in Bantwal.

MP Shobha Karandlaje visited the laundry belonging to Sharat who was assaulted on July 4 while he was closing his shop.

After visiting the laundry Shobha Karandlaje said, “The state government has not taken the assault on Sharat seriously. So far no arrest has been made in this case but the government has deployed police force to stop our protest. We have lost many of our party workers in the state and all the murders have taken place in the same way. Congress is directly responsible for all the murders in the state”, she alleged.
