Lisbon, Aug 7 (IANS) Portuguese football club Sporting Lisbon officially announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Bruno Paulista on Friday.
Paulista joins the Portuguese team from Brazilian club Esporte Clube Bahia.
The Lisbon-based team only mentioned in its statement that it came to an agreement with Bahia for the transfer of the 19-year-old player, without providing financial details about the deal, reports Efe.
However, Bahia issued a separate statement, specifying that Paulista joins Sporting on loan for one season, but may become a permanent player if the Portuguese club pays 3.3 million euros ($3.6 million).
The player said he is very happy to play for Sporting, calling it a great club with great fans, and hoped to do his best there.
The Brazilian joins other South American reinforcements signed by the club recently, namely Colombia’s Teofilo Gutierrez and Costa Rican Bryan Ruiz.
