Sr Adrian Serrao receives emotional farewell from Mount Rosary School

Udupi: Sr Adrian Serrao, who served Mount Rosary English Medium School as the Headmistress for the last 10 years, was given an emotional send-off by the management, the students and the Parent Teachers Association of the school in a function held in her honour at the church auditorium on June 4. Sr Adrian Serrao, who completed her 10-year tenure, is scheduled to take charge as the Headmistress of St Joseph English School, Belagavi district.

Farewell remarks were given by Swathi, Cryston D’Souza, Anvitha Tantri and Shraddha Shetty on behalf of the students, and by Sunil Poojary on behalf of the teachers.

Sr Adrian Serrao thanked all government officials like the district SP Annamalai, Education department officials, Church management committee, the parents, the teachers and the public for their co-operation in the school activities during the last 10 years and urged them to give the same support to the new headmistress. She stated that she would relish and cherish the memorable days of her life as headmistress of the school.

At the end of the felicitation programme, the school students presented a farewell dance that enlightened and touched the hearts of the audience. They expressed their gratitude to their headmistress in their own creative way.

Janardhan Thonse (ZP member), Jerry Vincent Dais (vice-president of Church), Madhukar S (district Physical training officer) and Ashok Kumar Shetty (President district Headmasters Association) expressed their admiration for Sr Adrian, her service to the institution and for her achievements.

In his presidential remarks, Correspondent of the school Fr Philip Neri Aranha appreciated her dedicated and sincere service to the institution and said that thousands of students whom she had taught were fortunate for having had her as their teacher and wished her well in her future mission.

Fr Anil Fernandes (assistant parish priest), Fr Victor Fernandes (HM Milagres PU College, Kallianpur), Fr Maquenji Mendonca (parishioner), Henry Mendonca (School Administration committee member), Nithyananda (PTA president), Bhujanga Shetty (Taluk Physical officer), Sr Mari Jane (Superior, Carmel Convent Santhekatte) and Sr Vanditha (New Headmistress of the school) were present. Meena delivered the vote of thanks. Sathish Chitrapadi compered the programme.
